Nursing Leadership Congress

Innovative Thinking and Networking for Chief Nursing Executives

The fifth annual Nursing Leadership Congress (NLC) — Advancing Patient Safety: No Time to Quit — will spotlight the timely issue of how do we maintain our focus on safe patient care while dealing with unprecedented economic challenges. As a nurse leader, keeping your team moving forward on the patient safety path will be challenging. The NLC is a unique opportunity for you to take two days out of your hectic schedule to refocus and revisit your game plan for advancing patient safety.

This event — to be held October 19-20, 2009 at the Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead in Atlanta — was made possible through an educational grant from McKesson and Intel in collaboration with sponsorship from the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF), the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP).

Improving patient safety is a complex issue that requires a multidisciplinary blend of highly skilled and dedicated people. Nursing leaders are well-positioned to direct and connect many of the efforts required to transform healthcare and improve patient safety. Join us and benefit from:

  • Industry leader insights: Learn from key safety advocates about inventive ways to improve the quality of patient-centered care.
  • Colleague case studies: Hear from executive teams who will share stories of successful patient safety tactics and how they’ve overcome obstacles such as regulatory mandates and managing in a tough economy.
  • Interactive thought leader sessions: Brainstorm with NLC attendees, health policy experts and organization leaders from across the country on how to adopt and advocate concrete patient safety concepts.
  • Time to network and recharge: Break away for just a few days to immerse yourself in this topic and meet with other nurse leaders from across the U.S.
